The wild animals of Patagonia
Wildlife

Patagonia is revered as a nature lover’s ultimate playground, with its towering granite peaks, lakes, rivers and verdant forests home to over 500 species of wildlife.

Mirador Torres del Paine

Probably the most iconic hike in all of Chile. Incredible views of the Towers, and if you get nice weather, some of the most beautiful alpenglow I have ever witnessed.

Lake Pohoe

Located near Castillo Hill Village, Pehoe Lake is a beautiful attraction in Patagonia. Its crystalline waters gives it an incredible beauty, in which you can see the Cuernos del Paine reflected. The lake is the perfect scene to see exotic animal species and unique vegetation.

Reflections

A beautiful hike from El Chaltén to a blue water lagoon surrounded by native forest that is reached in less than two hours. From there you can appreciate a fantastic view of the Fitz Roy massif.

el chalten

El Chaltén means “smoking mountain.” Located right near Argentina’s border with Chile in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park, El Chalten sits at the base of Mount Fitz Roy and on the edge of the South Patagonia Ice Cap. The landscape around this town is rugged, dramatic, and impressive.

Workshop's schedule

The schedule we are going to follow
throughout our wonderful journey

Day one
PUNDA ARENAS

The team is going to meet at the Punta Arenas airport in Chile,  and our road trip towards the national park Torres Del Paine, will begin.
During this five-hour journey we will have the opportunity to see for the first time many of the fauna species that are housed in the area, such as flamingo, lama, ostrich and puma.

We will arrive at the hotel , where we will stay for 4 nights , we will settle in our rooms and then you will have some time to relax until the departure for our first photoshooting location in Chile in order to capture the sunset.

Day two
TORRES DEL PAINE

Breakfast and departure at 8.00 am for Mirador Torres Del Paine (17km), which is perhaps the best hiking spot all over Chile. The view is unique and if the weather permits it, we will experience one of the most beautiful alplenglow

Day three
TORRES DEL PAINE

We will wake up early in the morning to take some photographs of the sunrise at a secret spot… We will visit the park, where the spots for photoshooting vary between Salto Grande, Cascada Rio Paine and many more. From the park after  45 minutes of walking, we will reach Mirandor Condor, which is well known for the breathtaking 360 degree view, right on time for the sunset. Afterwards we will return to the hotel.

Day four
Lake Torres del paine

Once more, we will wake up early in the morning to capture the sunrise at a point which can be reached after 2,5 km walk , approximately 45 minutes on foot but the landscape will definitely compensate you for the long walk. We will continue our photographic quest to Lake Laguna Amarga, where if we are lucky enough we will be able to see flamingo and a herd of puma which usually gathers near the flamingo territory. Before the sunset we will head towards a secret spot where we will have the opportunity to capture the sun setting.

Day five
EL CALAFATE

Breakfast and departure from the hotel to continue our trip from Chile to Argentina. After a four-hour journey we will  reach the famous El Calafate where we will visit the Los Glacier National Park to photograph the Perito Moreno Glacier, which we will be able to see from really close. We will spent the night in Calafate.

a great view from perito moreno glacier

Day six
EL CHALTEN

Our next destination is going to be El Chaten. A ride of 2,5 hours by car, to get to our base for the next 3 nights. We will settle in our rooms and then set off for our first photoshooting spot, the Horillo Del Salto waterfall, after crossing a forest, whose colours during autumn will fascinate even the most demanding visitor. For the sunset , we will head towards a canyon where we will create a frame with the Fitz Roy Mountain as a background.

Day seven & eight
EL CHALTEN

Our first morning photoshooting at the Laguna Capri lake, after a hiking which will last about 2 hours. There ,we will have the opportunity to take photographs of the Fitz Roy mountain reflected on the lake’s waters. Afterwards, we will continue with several hidden spots , one of which is a waterfall that has Fitz Roy mountain as  background.

Day nine
PUNDA ARENAS

We will leave our hotel and return to Chile at the city of Punda Arenas. During this 8 hour journey , we will make some stops for photoshooting and in order to eat something.
